Karen Nickerson graduated from the University of Illinois at Springfield in 2009 with a degree in mass communication. During her time there she worked for the campus television studio, made short informational videos for Unigo.com, and helped write, direct, and edit the school’s first and only feature-length student film production. She enjoyed participating in all aspects of these productions, but something about the tedium of spending hours every night in front of a computer screen re-building a story from hours of raw footage dazzled her, or possibly cooked her brain, and shortly after graduating UIS she found a spot with Crowdson Creative as a video editor and has been here ever since.
Recently retired from the University of Illinois Springfield Office of Electronic Media, Dave Antoine was looking for a new challenge when he fortuitously ran into Brian, his former student-worker (20 years previous), at a grocery store one evening. After mentioning that he was looking for work, and reminding Brian of certain college indiscretions, Dave immediately found himself back in the workforce with Crowdson Creative. Mr. Antoine also hosts a radio show as “The Aging Adult Rocker”, Wednesdays from 6-8pm on WQNA 88.3 in Springfield. You can find his Facebook page here.
Brandon Durham is a visual effects artist (VFX) with a focus on compositing and motion graphics. After graduating high school and leaving behind the student broadcasting program there, he discovered Crowdson Creative. He spent roughly a year here freelancing as a video editor and occasional production assistant. Shortly after, Brandon decided to seek higher education in the media industry, specifically visual effects, which was his focus in the student broadcasting program. Here his tool set expanded greatly which gave him more capability to bring his creative visions to life. After graduating, Brandon began freelancing with students from other departments of the school, mainly the film department. He would soon return to Crowdson Creative as a full-time editor and compositor, however, he does keep his door open to any possible tasks handled in the visual effects realm. Brandon has an unquenchable desire to create visual content and almost a decade of experience working in visual effects and post production.
